Moving an item in its Final Location will allow you to remove the item from Stock (and allow you to create an End-User Service case).

First, you must prepare to move an item to its Final Location, then you can move the item to its Final Location.

Preparing to Move an Item to its Final Location

  1. On the Purchasing tab of the project, make sure the STATUS column of the item shows "Received via PO" or "Pulled from Stock" (or some complete combination of the two).

  2. Print or download the item QR label and affix it to the item you are installing.

  3. Go into the project that is using that item.

  4. On the Overview page, in the bottom right corner (under "Additional Tools"), click on Generate QR Codes.

  5. In the pop-up window, select "Generate Room Stock Location Codes".

  6. Also select whether you want all Room QR codes to be on one page ("Sheet") or have each Room QR code on its own page ("Individual Labels"), and click Generate. (This will generate a PDF that contains your Room QR codes.)

TIP: You can provide these Room QR codes to your field techs as part of their installation package of paperwork so that they can scan items to their final location at the jobsite.

Moving an Item to its Final Location

You can move an item to its Final Location using (A) your JetbuiltGO mobile app or (B) a handheld barcode scanner connected to your computer.

NOTE: After moving an item to its Final Location, the item will no longer appear in the Items area of Stock because it is no longer an inventory item. In other words, the item will be removed from Stock.

(A) Using your JetbuiltGO mobile app:

  1. In JetbuiltGO, go to the Stock module.

  2. Tap the orange Move Items button.

  3. Scan the item's QR label.

  4. Tap Move (or tap Scan More if you have more item QR labels to scan for this Room, then scan the other item QR labels, and then tap Move).

  5. Scan the appropriate Room QR code (i.e., the Room QR code for the room that the item is in).

  6. Tap Final Location. (You will be navigated to the Project>Assets page.)

-OR-

(B) Using a barcode scanner connected to your computer:

  1. On the Stock>Items page, find the item that you want to move to Final Location.

  2. Expand the item name header--by clicking the item's name/model--to display the individual items in Stock.

  3. Click on the black Move Arrow next to the Serial Number (or N/A). This will open the "Move Items" pop-up window.

  4. With your cursor clicked into in the "Search Or Scan Location To Move To" box, scan the Room QR code.

After performing the steps in either (A) or (B), the item is moved/installed to its final location!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Statuses

  • If you received the item on a Purchase Order (PO): Upon installing the item to its final location, you will see the name of the Room to which it was installed in the STATUS column on the Stock tab in the project, along with a green house icon.

Serial Numbers

  • If you entered a serial number when the item was received via PO in Stock: You will find the item's serial number listed on the Stock tab in the project in the SERIAL NUM column. And upon installing this serialized item to its final location you will find the item's serial number listed on the Assets tab in the project in the SERIAL NUM column.

  • If you entered a serial number when the item was manually added to Stock: Upon installing the item to its final location, you will find the item's serial number listed on the Assets tab in the project in the SERIAL NUM column.

Please note: Items in Stock without serial numbers will not be automatically added to the Assets tab of a project when installed to their final location. To add non-serialized items to the Assets page, go to the Builder, click on the item, and in the window that appears click on the "Asset/Serial # Tracking" checkbox near the bottom.

Uninstalling an Item from it's Final Location

If you find that you have installed an item to it's final location, but now need to undo that action, this can be done on the Project>Stock page. Clicking on the green house icon next to the item's location in the Status column will bring up the Item Movement Log.

After clicking the "Remove from Final Location" button, you'll be directed to the Move Items window. Search for (or scan) and select a new Stock Location to which you want to move the item, and click Submit.

Now, the item has been removed from it's final location and the status on the Project>Stock page will list the current Stock Location.

Keep in mind that while this item is no longer installed to it's final location, it is still allocated and assigned to this project. If you want to use this item in a different project, you can use the "Return to Stock" function on the Stock>Items page after it's been removed from it's final location.

Please Note: For non-serialized bulk items that share a QR code, you cannot uninstall just one of those items from their final location in a project by performing this action. ALL of the non-serialized bulk items that are linked on that QR code will be uninstalled from their final locations, even if you've only clicked on one.

For example, if there are five instances of Item A installed to their final locations, and you'd like to uninstall one and return it to Stock, you'll first need to uninstall all of them by following the above steps.

Then, on the Stock>Items page, you can add a serial number to one instance of Item A to separate it from the bulk, generate a new QR code for it, and return it to Stock.

Now, you can again move the bulk non-serialized instances of Item A to their final locations in the project, and only 4 will be included on that shared QR code.
