Jetbot Drawings

Jetbot Drawings can be used to create schematic line drawings of your project based on the information you provide. For best results, be sure to include a scope of work in your project.

In Settings>Drawings, you'll have the ability to choose your preferences for the labeling of your drawings.

Jetbot will use all of the items in each room of your project to create your drawing, but since there are various ways that those items can connect, it is important to provide a scope of work to give it context. The scope should be fairly descriptive, but it doesn't need to be overly technical.

Scopes can be created for each room in the Builder (or for the entire project on the Discussion page). You can either enter this information yourself, or you can create a scope of work using AI.

After the scopes have been provided, you can click on the Drawings tab within your project to open the Jetbot Drawings page, and then click "+Add Drawing".

In the window that pops up, you'll give your drawing a name and select which Rooms and Systems you'd like to include. Currently, only Schematic Line Diagrams are available, but we are also working on adding Rack Elevations.

You'll also have the ability to enter notes and special requests that should be accounted for when creating the drawing, though this is not required to begin. Once all information is entered as desired, click "Create", and Jetbot will begin creating your drawing.

Once the schematic line diagram has been rendered, you'll receive a popup message from Jetbot that includes two types of notes on the design: critical and contextual.

The critical notes will appear at the top of the message in yellow text, and will address any issues that Jetbot has found with your configuration. This can include information on missing components, or suggestions as to how best to utilize the equipment.

The contextual notes will be written below the critical notes and will appear in white text. These notes include how the devices are connected and the expected functionality.

These notes can be referenced again at any time by clicking the "View Notes" button along the top of the drawing.

Drawings can be viewed using zoom, pan, and scroll shortcuts with your mouse wheel or trackpad. Jetbot should be able to sense what type of device you're on, but you can also set this selection manually by clicking the icons on the top menu bar.

Jetbot will remember and automatically retain your selection when you go in and out of various drawings.

If using a desktop computer with a mouse, select the mouse icon. You can zoom in and out by scrolling the mouse wheel over any area of the drawing.

If you're using a laptop, select the trackpad icon. You can use two-finger actions to pan around different areas of the drawing, or pinch and expand to zoom in or out.

Depending on your specific device, a specialty trackpad or mouse may function differently on the opposite setting, so be sure to check it out to find out what works best for you!

After your drawing has been rendered, you may want to have a few adjustments or edits made. You can do this by clicking the "Modify" button along the top of the drawing.

In the window that pops up, add additional notes and information to better direct Jetbot to your desired outcome.

You can continue to modify your drawing using these notes as many times as needed.

If Jetbot has made an error on a specific item within your drawing, you can report the changes that are required.

Right click on the item that you'd like to update to bring up the "Report Model Error" window to tell Jetbot what needs to be changed.

You can add notes for the team and specifically reference:

If this is a custom item of yours, the model will be updated in your database permanently. If this is a Jetbuilt item, we will change it for this drawing then place it into a queue for verification before up updating the Jetbuilt database.

It is also possible to make manual adjustments to your drawing rather than using the Modify function.

To change the wire type of an existing wire connection, right click on the wire and select a new type from the menu.

To move a device or a wire, click on it and drag it within the drawing to move it while keeping the wiring intact.

Add a wire connection by clicking on an open port and dragging the wire to an available port on another device. (The wire will initially appear in magenta as an undefined wire type; right click on it to define the wire type)

You can delete the existing devices or connections by clicking on the device or wire label, and then clicking the trash can icon.

Any changes you make can be undone by clicking the Undo or Redo buttons along the top.

Once you're satisfied with your edits, click the Save button to save your changes.

Please note: Saving manual edits to your drawing will disable the ability for Jetbot to modify the drawing. This limitation is temporary while we continue to work on improving this feature, but for now, please keep this in mind when saving manual changes.

When you are satisfied with your results, the drawing can be marked as the Final Version. This will let Jetbot know that you are happy with the drawing and this configuration will be referenced when creating other drawings.

For example, let's say you do a drawing for an executive conference room and an AV rack. Those are two different rooms in your project and they will show up side-by-side in this drawing.

However, this AV rack may also serve other rooms that aren't displayed in this drawing. By marking this drawing as the final version, Jetbot will then know which ports on the AV rack are already being used by the executive conference room, and will not use those ports to connect to devices in other rooms.

Now, when you do a drawing for one of those other rooms, Jetbot will only use open and available inputs on the AV rack. Essentially, this allows for multiple drawings to take place without duplicating which ports are being used.

All drawings can be saved as a PDF file, and will soon be available to be sent directly to the Files tab of your project. We'll also be adding the ability to download it as a DWG, or send it directly to your client.

While the drawings feature is in beta and not yet completed, we appreciate your help testing it out! Please report all of your findings and comments to us by clicking the "Report" button along the top of the drawing.

In the window that pops up, you can enter notes to send to our team. Let us know if you are seeing irregularities or discrepancies with the drawings you've created, or just to share positive experiences where Jetbot exceeds your expectations.

We are working hard to supply Jetbot with information for every item in the database, and most items are already included! However, there may still occasionally be a few items with which Jetbot is not familiar (like custom items you've created), and you may receive this message:

Jetbot will work to research these new items in the background, and they will be added to the knowledge base for future use. While this is happening, you can continue working in other areas of your project, and you'll receive an email and a Radar notification once the drawing is ready.
