Printers and Scanners for Stock Module

A brief rundown of the equipment you'll want in order to use Stock to its fullest potential

Written by Support

In order to get the most out of Stock, you'll want a few pieces of equipment. It's likely that you already have some of this equipment, but we wanted to give a brief overview of what we used in our testing and recommend to our users.

Printer

The Stock platform is designed to print QR codes and place them on locations and equipment to bridge the gap between your physical spaces and the Stock platform. You can use an array of different label makers and printers to accomplish this, and the choice is totally yours. For example, these are the affordable label printers we used in testing. They can be purchased from Amazon or directly from Brother.

Scanner

You can, of course, use your smart phone to scan the QR codes and navigate the Stock platform. In order to get full functionality out of the Stock platform on your computer, we recommend setting up a dedicated QR/barcode scanner. In our testing we used a very affordable wireless scanner, but you may want to use a more heavy-duty scanner with rubber padding in your warehouse.

Here is the hand scanner we use at Jetbuilt:

With this specific scanner (and probably many others), you can scan QR codes to move items and barcodes to input serial numbers.

For barcodes, make scanning a lot of serial numbers quicker when you use the above-mentioned scanner by scanning the below QR code to change the scanner's trigger release function from ENTER to TAB:

In other words, by scanning the above QR code with our recommended scanner, when you scan a barcode which then inputs the serial number into the first blank in Jetbuilt, releasing the trigger on the scanner will act as if you pressed TAB on your keyboard, which takes you to the next blank field in Jetbuilt to scan the next barcode:
