When the time comes, a Lead can be transformed into a project directly from the Funnel page. Find the lead that is ready, and click the potential project name.

In the window that appears, click Transform into Project.

This will prompt a window to appear, confirming that you want to transform the Lead into an Opportunity. Click OK.

Upon clicking OK, the project will load and be moved into the Opportunity stage.

NOTE: With the Funnel module, all projects in the Lead, Opportunity, Estimate, Revisions (which is considered part of Proposals in the Sales Funnel breakdown at the top of Funnel), and Proposal stages--and the Pre-Engineering stage, if you're using that--will appear in the Funnel module. So, if you transform a Lead into an Opportunity, that project will still exist in the Funnel module until it reaches the Contract (or later) stage, at which point the project will no longer appear in Funnel.
