How turn an entire Room into an Option

Options are great to give your clients flexibility to choose between upgrades and downgrades.

All line items within Options must be attached to a Room inside your main project, so what can you do if you want to make an entire room optional?

If you have already built the Room in your main project, and you would like to move that Room to an Option:

First, create the Option that you would like to move the items into.

Next, open the room in the main project that contains the items you'd like to move, and click Edit Items.

Select all of the items you'd like to move to the Option, then click 'Copy to Room'.

This will open a window where you will change the filter to Option, select the option that you just set up, and click 'Move Items'.

This will move the items from your main project into the Option.

NOTE: After you have moved the items, do not delete the Room from the main project.

Deleting the room will delete the option items as well, because the items are still attached to that room. Instead, leave the empty room in the main project and create your proposal. The empty room will not be included in the proposal since it doesn't contain any items.

If you haven't yet built a room, and you would like to create an Optional Room from scratch:

The best way to do this is to first create an empty room in your main project:

Next, create an Option and add your line items.
Attach all of the line items to the empty room.

When you create your proposal, the empty room will be hidden since it doesn't contain any items, but the Option page will show up so your client can choose to add it.

Hope this helps - let us know if you have any questions!!
